Tapered Wood Leg Upholstered Platform Bed (HM-LB-2609) is the lightest thing we build. An 18 cm upholstered platform — headboard, footboard and rails all the same height — lifted on four 38 cm tapered solid-wood legs that splay very slightly outward. The whole bed is a horizontal line and four vertical ones, which is why it disappears into a small room instead of filling it.

The legs unscrew and pack inside the platform, and the deck is poplar slats on a centre rail, so there is no box spring and no assembly beyond eight bolts.

• 38 cm tapered solid-wood legs. Splayed 3 degrees outward, screwed into steel inserts rather than straight into plywood, so they can be removed and refitted without stripping.
• 18 cm upholstered platform. Headboard, footboard and rails all at the same height, 4–5 cm thick, with a continuous piped edge around the top.
• 0.0869 CBM packing. Legs pack inside the platform, one carton per set, 782 single beds per 40HQ — the highest loading density in the range.
• Fabric or wood leg finish. Natural oak, walnut and black legs from stock; the platform is upholstered in linen-look, velvet or boucle.
• Timber slat deck. Poplar slats on a centre rail, sized for a 20–30 cm mattress; no box spring.
• Five sizes from 90 cm. 90 × 190, 99 × 190, 137 × 190, 153 × 203 and 183 × 203 cm — the 90 is a genuine single for kids and hostel rooms.
• Eight-bolt assembly. Rails bolt to the platform, legs screw in, slats roll out. One person, about 15 minutes, hex key in the box.

Kids and teenager rooms are the biggest market for the 90 and 99 cm sizes: the bed is low enough to be safe, the legs give storage space underneath, and there is no tall headboard to fall against. Hostels and staff quarters use the same two sizes because 782 fit in a container.

Studio apartments and holiday rentals use the 137 and 153 as a bed that does not dominate the room, and guest bedrooms use the 153 and 183 where the room has a window on the bed-head wall. Mid-century and Japandi schemes specify it because the tapered leg is the reference point for that whole style.

The two variables that matter here are the leg and the platform height. Both are cut on our own line:

• Leg timber and finish. Rubberwood as standard; beech or ash on request. Natural, walnut, oak, black and whitewash finishes from stock.
• Leg height and profile. 25–45 cm, tapered as shown or straight; a 45 cm leg clears a storage box underneath.
• Platform height. 18 cm as standard; 25 or 30 cm for a deeper mattress or a more substantial look.
• Fabric and size. Any fabric in our library matched to a Pantone or swatch; 90–200 cm widths cut to order.
• Branding and packing. Label, hardware bag, retail carton printing, barcode; drop-tested cartons for e-commerce parcels.

What is the MOQ?

50 sets per model. Mixed models and sizes can share a container as long as each reaches 50 sets.

Do the legs hold a heavy adult?

Yes. The legs are solid rubberwood on steel inserts, and the platform carries the load through the frame rather than through the leg joints. SGS static load reports for the ordered size come with the quotation.

Is 90 × 190 cm a standard single?

It is the common single in the UK, Australia and much of Asia for kids and hostel beds. 99 × 190 is the wider single for adults; both are the same price band and the same carton.

Can the legs be removed for shipping?

They are removed for packing as standard and screw back in by hand with a hex key. No glue, no staples.

Will the bed move on a hard floor?

The legs have a small felt or plastic foot; add silicone pads for timber floors. For hotel use we can fit a hidden bracket that ties the platform to the wall.

How many fit in a 40HQ?

Approx. 782 in 90 or 99 cm, 602 in 137 and 562 in 153 or 183 — the highest density in our upholstered range.
